Matthew 3: 10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

The Bride, the church should bear fruits worthy of repentance

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should safeguard our soul so that it does not become defiled. We also meditated that we must meaningfully follow all the laws that God has given us.

But today the thing that we are going to meditate upon is Leviticus 19: 18 – 26 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord.

‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

‘Whoever lies carnally with a woman who is betrothed to a man as a concubine, and who has not at all been redeemed nor given her freedom, for this there shall be scourging; but they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 

And he shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, a ram as a trespass offering. 

The priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he has committed. And the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him.

‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. 

But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord. 

And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God.

‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.

You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you. These, for what he is showing as a pattern is that the soul that is saved should not marry the Gentiles and, in the land, which is the heart when the word of God, which is the true word of God is sown along with that we should not sow the seeds of the world along with it. 

Also, we should not wear a garment of mixed linen and wool means garment shows salvation. In that only the teachings of Christ should have a place. Whoever lies carnally with a woman who is betrothed to a man as a concubine, and who has not at all been redeemed nor given her freedom, for this there shall be scourging; but they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. Therefore, in the presence of God they should be washed by the blood of the Lamb for their sin to be cleansed. Then God will forgive their sin. 

Then what God is saying is that in the land, which is the presence of God after they have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised and it is written so in the word of God. That is, in the presence of the Lord many types of souls, people with many kinds of thoughts will come. In that case, because their soul does not undergo change, God is calling them as uncircumcised. 

Regarding this, Jesus Christ is saying a parable that is Luke 13: 6 – 9 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 

Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ 

But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 

And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’”

When we meditate upon these facts our soul, even though we come to the presence of the Lord and search God but because there are no good deeds, he is telling to cut down that tree. The reason is that tree is each one of us. Therefore, there is no use of it standing on the ground and regarding us only, it is spoiling the ground and he is saying this as a parable. For that, we see that the keeper of the vineyard is saying that let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.

My dear people, if we do not repent and give good fruit within the given days, he will remove us from the presence of God. Therefore, let us listen to the voice of God, obey, repent, be saved and let us change into the good tree that gives God the fruit that he desires. Regarding that, Leviticus 19: 23 – 25 ‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. 

But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord. 

And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God.
