“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Malachi 1: 10 “Who is there even among you who would shut the doors, so that you would not kindle fire on My altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you,” says the Lord of hosts, “Nor will I accept an offering from your hands.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
The Bride, the church should not do the work of God for money
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, the bride, the church should not defile the holy name of God and should learn to walk according to the laws of God. We also meditated regarding how the bride, the church is defiling the holy name of God and how we should safeguard ourselves so that we do not defile it.
But today the thing that we are going to meditate upon is Leviticus 22: 10 – 16 ‘No outsider shall eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing.
But if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food.
If the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings.
But if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider shall eat it.
‘And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one-fifth to it.
They shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,
or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I the Lord sanctify them.’”
When we meditate upon these verses, no outsider shall eat the holy offering. Outsider means idol worshipper, who has not been redeemed by the blood of Christ and is a Gentile. Also, one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing. The meaning of this is that those who do God’s work for money should not eat the holy thing. That is, for the work of God we must not talk a price.
That is why our Lord Jesus Christ is saying in Matthew 10: 5 – 10 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,
nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.
Also, in 1 Corinthians 9: 13, 14 Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar?
Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.
From this what we know is that if we do God’s work with faith according to the calling with which God has called us, due to that work we will get all the blessings needed for our life. But if we work for money it means that we do not have holiness within us. The person who the priest buys with his money and the person born in his house can eat from his food.
Also, if the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings. But if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider shall eat it. But if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest and add one-fifth to it.
The reason for this is that we must not make the holy things defiled and because of eating them so that the guilt of trespass is not placed when one-fifth part is added and given more, God does not allow the iniquity to fall upon the one who has committed the mistake but instead of that he takes what he has and forgives that iniquity and makes us holy.
Also, my dear people who are meditating upon this, let each one of us confess our mistakes and submit ourselves humbly and attain holiness.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
