“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Joshua 13: 33 But to the tribe of Levi Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as He had said to them.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
We, the bride, the church should be involved in Christ’s eternal possession
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that if we, the bride, the church submit ourselves, and everything that belongs to us to God as holy with a vow and if we offer worship to God, that worship God will accept as a pleasing worship.
But today the things that we are going to meditate upon are Numbers 1: 1 – 4 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually,
from twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
And with you there shall be a man from every tribe, each one the head of his father’s house.
The significance of this is that when the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt on the first day of the second month, in the second year, the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting saying: “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies says the Lord. But to number them there should be a man from every tribe with you and whoever they maybe they should be the head of their father’s house and we see that God is commanding this.
The names of those who were numbered and the number of those who were numbered in every tribe is being written down. That is, in Numbers 1: 46 all who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty. But the Levites were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe. This is because God had chosen the Levites specially for his work. Also, the work for which God had called the Levites was Numbers 1: 50 – 54 but you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they shall attend to it and camp around the tabernacle.
And when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their armies;
but the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
Thus, the children of Israel did; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they did.
When we meditate upon this, they should be as an enquirer over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it and to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings and to attend to it and camp around the tabernacle. The soul of this tribe is as the tabernacle of God, and their soul will be as that which is filled by the bride, the Holy Spirit and as those who worship God filled with the Spirit of Christ, and as those who have received the power of Christ and as those who are doing the work of God honestly.
Also, when the tabernacle is to go forward, they shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death. God is telling that the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their armies. God is showing this as a pattern to us because each one of us as the church of God as the body of Christ should receive grace within God and we must worship as church of God and God pleases in that.
Also, what we come to know about the tribe of Levi is that when the children of Israel removed their ornaments and gave it to Aaron and made a calf and when they were naked Exodus 32: 26 – 28 then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the Lord’s side—come to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.
And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.’”
So, the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day.
When we meditate upon this, Moses stood in the entrance of the camp and when he asked whoever is on the Lord’s side come to me, all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. When we see this, they removed ornaments without any arguments completely for God. Also, they were not greedy for gain. But many among us argue about it a lot. They argue in this manner and will be staining their bodies. But some people for the sake of deliverance will remove them. But their soul will be clinging to it. They will not remove it completely from them. They will keep them in lockers or banks and say that it will help during emergencies. They will think that it is a Satan. Wherever we may keep it, because it does not go away from our soul our inner man is being stained and we must know that.
Therefore, God did not give the tribe of Levi the possession of land. The reason for that is he is saying that they are the possession of God. Also, just like how we meditated in the past days only if we give all our lands and things everything by taking a vow as holy for the Lord only then we can receive the eternal possession from God. As a pattern to that Numbers 1: 53, 54 but the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
Thus, the children of Israel did; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they did.
In this manner, let us submit ourselves to safeguard and walk according to God’s laws so that God’s anger does not come upon us.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
