“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Psalms 106: 30, 31 Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stopped.

And that was accounted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

Hallelujah

We, the bride, the church must be as those who are zealous for God.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that our Lord Jesus Christ is rising up as one who does valiantly among Israel.

Next, the facts that we are meditating upon are Numbers 25: 1 – 18 Now Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab.

They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.

So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang the offenders before the Lord, out in the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.”

So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Every one of you kill his men who were joined to Baal of Peor.”

And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;

and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.

And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

“Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.

Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace;

and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’ ”

Now the name of the Israelite who was killed, who was killed with the Midianite woman, was Zimri the son of Salu, a leader of a father’s house among the Simeonites.

And the name of the Midianite woman who was killed was Cozbi the daughter of Zur; he was head of the people of a father’s house in Midian.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

“Harass the Midianites, and attack them;

for they harassed you with their schemes by which they seduced you in the matter of Peor and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a leader of Midian, their sister, who was killed in the day of the plague because of Peor.”

After the Lord blessed Israel, Balak departed in his way. But Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab. They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel.

That is, the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab means it was God’s will for Israel to dwell in safety alone. To destroy this, practicing divination and soothsaying these kinds of deeds came within Israel. God is saying these things as harlotry. Also, God’s law was that we should not mix with Gentiles and eat along with them. That is, 1 Corinthians 10: 18 – 22 Observe Israel after the flesh: Are not those who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?

Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

According to the above-mentioned words, God is telling that we must not drink in the cup of Peor and he is explaining and showing us that there is no agreement between the temple of God and idols. But the Israelites, ate what the Moabites sacrificed to their gods and bowed down to their gods. Due to that, it is written that Israel was joined to Baal of Peor. Due to the reason that Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang the offenders before the Lord, out in the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.”

So Moses said to the judges of Israel, after every one of you kill the men who were joined to Baal of Peor, Moses and the children of Israel were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Then in front of their eyes, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman. Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel. And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

My dear people, in our spiritual life Ephesians 5: 1 – 5 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, if there are such kind of evil deeds, he said that we cannot inherit the kingdom of Christ. Also, because the Israelites committed harlotry, God is sending plague among us. But if we destroy harlotry with zealousness the plague will be stopped.

My dear people, if the plague that is there now in the land should be destroyed, we must be as those who flee idol worship. Therefore, let us all submit ourselves to the will of God so that the plague does not touch us.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
