“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Hebrews 10: 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

Hallelujah

We, the bride, the church should not ever take vengeance upon anyone.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should be as those who proclaim the name of the Lord and we also meditated regarding how the fathers of our tribes inherited their portion of inheritance.

But next what we are meditating is that Numbers 35: 1 – 14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, saying:

“Command the children of Israel that they give the Levites cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession, and you shall also give the Levites common-land around the cities.

They shall have the cities to dwell in; and their common-land shall be for their cattle, for their herds, and for all their animals.

The common-land of the cities which you will give the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.

And you shall measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, on the south side two thousand cubits, on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits. The city shall be in the middle. This shall belong to them as common-land for the cities.

“Now among the cities which you will give to the Levites you shall appoint six cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. And to these you shall add forty-two cities.

So all the cities you will give to the Levites shall be forty-eight; these you shall give with their common-land.

And the cities which you will give shall be from the possession of the children of Israel; from the larger tribe you shall give many, from the smaller you shall give few. Each shall give some of its cities to the Levites, in proportion to the inheritance that each receives.”

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there.

They shall be cities of refuge for you from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation in judgment.

And of the cities which you give, you shall have six cities of refuge.

You shall appoint three cities on this side of the Jordan, and three cities you shall appoint in the land of Canaan, which will be cities of refuge.

When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, saying: “Command the children of Israel that they give the Levites cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession, and you shall also give the Levites common-land around the cities. They shall have the cities to dwell in; and their common-land shall be for their cattle, for their herds, and for all their animals.

The Lord is commanding the children of Israel that they give the Levites from their inheritance because the tribe of Levi were not given any portion in the land or any portion by putting lots while dividing. This is because God had said that God alone is their inheritance and therefore the priesthood has been given to them. Therefore, God is feeding in all manner by the children of Israel.

But the measurement of the common-land of the cities that should be given to the Levites and six cities for refuge and in this manner for them forty-eight cities and their common-land should be given to them and that was the law of the Lord. Also, what God is saying is that the cities which you will give shall be from the possession of the children of Israel; from the larger tribe you shall give many, from the smaller you shall give few. Each shall give some of its cities to the Levites, in proportion to the inheritance that each receives.

Also, the reason cities of refuge are given is so that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there and for that these cities of refuge are mentioned, and they shall be cities of refuge for you from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation in judgment. In that you shall have six cities of refuge. You shall appoint three cities on this side of the Jordan, and three cities you shall appoint in the land of Canaan and it should be given to them.

My dear people, the cities of refuge means being given as a pattern of Christ. This is because no one should be avenged in the hands of man without justice and the one who is judging that is Christ and he is the one who takes vengeance, and no man should take vengeance and to show this the above-mentioned portion is showing this.

Therefore, my dear people let us all be as those who submit ourselves to the cities of refuge, who is Christ.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
