“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Timothy 6: 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
We, the bride, the church in our journey of faith we must hold on to eternal life.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should safeguard the inheritance that the fathers have kept, which is the worship of God and we, the children should safeguard it with holiness, and we meditated regarding this as a pattern with its examples.
Also, next the portion that we are meditating is that Deuteronomy 1: 1- 2 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.
In the above-mentioned portion, we see that the children of Israel in their journey are going to Horeb by way of Mount Seir. But it is eleven days journey distance from Kadesh Barnea. Regarding this, God is telling in Ezekiel 35: 1 – 15 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it,
and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you; I will stretch out My hand against you, and make you most desolate;
I shall lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
“Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end,
therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.
Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it the one who leaves and the one who returns.
And I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those who are slain by the sword shall fall.
I will make you perpetually desolate, and your cities shall be uninhabited; then you shall know that I am the Lord.
“Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there,
therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will do according to your anger and according to the envy which you showed in your hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.
Then you shall know that I am the Lord. I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to consume.’
Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them.”
‘Thus says the Lord God: “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate.
As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom—all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”
The explanation regarding this is that Mount Seir, because in our soul a kind of evil deed is arising against the tribe of Israel, God is fighting against Mount Seir. That is, God is telling that Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you; I will stretch out My hand against you and make you most desolate; you will be desolate. That is, not allowing Israel to grow when its iniquities are fulfilled in their times of trouble due to the power of the sword because their blood was shed I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; therefore, as I live, says the Lord God. Since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you says the Lord.
Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate and cut off from it the one who leaves and the one who returns. And I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those who are slain by the sword shall fall. I will make you perpetually desolate, and your cities shall be uninhabited; says the Lord.
These God is doing in our soul, the soul that is saved is not allowed to grow and our soul is being united to some kind of evil deeds and regarding this God is telling as Mount Seir. God’s war is there with this. The reason is that these deeds are Mount Edom and it will continue to make desolate the spiritual people of the Israelites and regarding this God is saying as it is shedding blood. Therefore God is fighting with it and God is making it such that they do not inhabit within us.
But what Mount Seir says is that these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there, which means Israel (the church of God) has two kinds of people. The flesh and the spirit; these two are always fighting against each other. The explanation regarding this is that in our soul also these two things will continue to have its place. Therefore the word of God says in Romans 8: 12 – 14 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
According to the above-mentioned verses, we are not debtors to the flesh to live according to the flesh. Therefore if you live according to the flesh you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. Therefore, if we walk according to the flesh we are condemned to judgement. Therefore, God to destroy the flesh he is always fighting against the flesh.
Therefore our journey of faith is along Mount Seir and that is being shown as a pattern. That is, through the above-mentioned facts it is showing us that in our life we must overcome them and be victorious. Therefore God is leading the Israelites along that way. These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Deuteronomy 1: 3 – 8 Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him as commandments to them,
after he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.
On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying,
“The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.
Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates.
See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’
In the above-mentioned verses he is telling to possess the land of Canaan. This is a pattern of us possessing Christ. Therefore in any circumstance we must accept our Lord Jesus Christ as our personal saviour and let us submit ourselves to hold on to eternal life firmly.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
