“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Matthew 11: 28 - 30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

For us, the bride, the church to possess Christ we must cross Jordan and this is a pattern.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that within us, the bride, the church our Lord Jesus Christ is manifesting forever as a prophet. 

But after Moses died, God is telling Joshua, Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. In this manner God is marking the territory of the land of Canaan and showing him. Also, for everyone to accept our Lord Jesus as their personal saviour, God is showing this as a pattern.

In this manner, if we possess this land Joshua 1: 5, 6 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 

Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

According to the above-mentioned verses not only is God leading us but this land which we have received is the land which God had promised to our early fathers and also God is telling that we will divide it and give it to others also. But God is telling that be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which God commanded to Moses; Also, to prosper wherever we go he is telling do not turn from the book of law to the right hand or to the left. Also the Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but if you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Regarding this, Psalms 1: 1 – 4 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

The facts regarding the above-mentioned verses is that it is written regarding the blessings which they receive in the lives of those who meditate in God’s Bible day and night. Therefore God is telling be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. After God told Joshua in this manner, Joshua is commanding the officers of the people a few things. That is, he told him to say that pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’ 

God is showing this as a pattern that is that if we want to possess that good land of Canaan, which is Christ we have to cross the Jordan whose waves come rolling on the shore. Therefore Jordan means in our life we can go only through big tribulation. That is, only if we receive the baptism by immersion, we become a new birth. Many people will come against this new birth. Many doubts will arise within us regarding how we will cross this. Many people will become weary. But we must think one thing that when we cross this Jordan our priest and our high priest, who is Christ is with us and we must think this. That is, when the Israelites were crossing Jordan the priests were with them and our Rock, who is Christ was also with them.

Regarding this Joshua 3: 17 Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

In order to make the above-mentioned verses clear, our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 3: 13 – 17 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 

And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

We must understand the above-mentioned verses and let us cross Jordan. Then he is calling him as beloved Son. In this manner, to inherit Christ he is showing this as a pattern. Also, Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of saying, “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land and this is a pattern of Christ. The explanations regarding this God willing by grace we will meditate tomorrow.

Therefore, my dear people our soul should find the place for rest and to possess the land where milk and honey flows we must put on our Lord Jesus and let us submit ourselves to possess salvation.
