“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Isaiah 51: 9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, and wounded the serpent?

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We must not give place to the spirit of harlotry within us, the bride, the church and we must safeguard ourselves by the Spirit of Christ.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated with few patterns that for us, the bride, the church the place to rest is our heavenly land, which is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Next what we are meditating is that Joshua 2: 1 – 8 Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there. 

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country.”

So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country.”

Then the woman took the two men and hid them. So she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. 

And it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them.” 

(But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.) 

Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. And as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.

Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof,

When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, Go, view the land, especially Jericho. And when it was told to the king of Jericho, that they lodged there he sent people to Rahab and told them to tell her that, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country.”

  That woman took the two men and hid them and she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. But it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark, that the men went out. For what God is showing these things as a pattern is that to see the deeds of the land which we will possess how they are and if the image of the inner man is it the image of God and to see if there is any curse in it God will analyse us well. But when we go into that city there is the house of a harlot. House of the harlot means idol worship. If that is there in us, God will send spies through the harlot into that house and will spy us. 

But that harlot hid them inside the house and is keeping them so that the King of Jericho does not find out. The explanation of this is that though our soul lives in idol worship and in the pleasures of the world and even after listening to the words of God inside that house also there were stalks of flax laid in order. This shows the evil teaching. In this manner, many people seek God, but they are like that woman. But after she sent those who came to search to search for the ones who came to spy, before they lay down, she came up to them and what she said is that Joshua 2: 9 and said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.

What is being told above is that God has given you the land and that the terror and fear of you has fallen upon us and that I know that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. Then she tells them everything that God did till that day when he brought the children of Israel from Egypt and that as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; and that everyone’s courage has gone. Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house and the way she asked it is that Joshua 2: 13 and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

According to what is said above as she asked, they said in Joshua 2: 14 So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the Lord has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.” They gave these words as a reply.

That is why till this day, among the children of Israel many people are walk against the truth and becoming a bondage to the spirit of harlotry. In this way she will come to us also cunningly. Therefore God is saying do not lean on to her way. This is because due to the spirit of God she will melt away. We must destroy such kind of deeds of the flesh and let us submit ourselves to dwell always within the house of God. The explanations regarding this God willing we will meditate tomorrow.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
