“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Titus 2: 13

Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

In our life, the bride, the church we must receive the joyful privilege that we hope upon.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should leave the wicked ways that are there in our soul and let us walk in the good path which is the path of the Lord.

Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 15: 19 – 24 Pul king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to strengthen the kingdom under his control.

And Menahem exacted the money from Israel, from all the very wealthy, from each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

So Menahem rested with his fathers. Then Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria and reigned two years.

And he did evil in the sight of the Lord; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin.

Pul king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to strengthen the kingdom under his control. Then Pekah the son of Remaliah in 2 Kings 15: 25 Then Pekah the son of Remaliah, an officer of his, conspired against him and killed him in Samaria, in the citadel of the king’s house, along with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of Gilead. He killed him and reigned in his place.

According to what is mentioned above, Pekah becomes king. Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, indeed they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria and reigned twenty years. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin. In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon and in 2 Kings 15: 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maachah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.

He took the above-mentioned people as captives to Assyria. Then Hoshea the son of Elah led a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah and struck and killed him; so he reigned in his place in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, and in 2 Kings 15: 31 – 38 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, indeed they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, began to reign.

He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

However the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the Lord.

Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

In those days the Lord began to send Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah.

So Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father. Then Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

In the above-mentioned verses, Jotham built the Upper Gate of the house of the Lord. Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. In those days the Lord began to send Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah. So Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father. Then Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

My dear people, when we meditate about the above-mentioned kings, even though the Lord anointed Jehu as the king of Israel after what he told him that for four generations, they will be seated on the throne was fulfilled, we can understand that no one came as king of Israel by the anointing of the Lord but those with the desire of position who won by flesh became kings. Such kind of people did not do anything for the Lord but for their worldly fame and life of pleasure they received it forcefully and they lived according to their desire and created deceit for themselves. In this manner many among us also live and at the end we do not receive the heavenly privilege and are disappearing. Due to this kind of life what reward we will get should be thought of by each and everyone of us. Also, if we do not give our whole heart, soul, mind for the Lord and live then even though we serve him in the last days we will lose our inheritance and we must understand this truly. Also, in the past days till man was present as king in the land peace will not come and we read regarding this. Also, in our life no man can give us peace in our soul. That is, any man ruling another man is not desirable by God. Only God should be as the one who rules us. In this manner, we must be within the reign of God and do the things which we have to do for God carefully with humbleness and humility. If we do not do in this manner, we must know that we cannot possess the heavenly kingdom. Also, our peace not only till the time we live in this world, but we must go to the heavenly country and there also if we want to see eternal peace and eternal joy then we must be washed by the blood of our Lord Jesus and in his blood, we must wash our garment and be as those who make it white. If we want to get this life, we must listen to only the voice of the Lord in our ears and if we will obey them then we can attain the heavenly hope through Christ. Let us submit ourselves for this.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
