“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Isaiah 48: 18, 19 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Your descendants also would have been like the sand, And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; His name would not have been cut off Nor destroyed from before Me.”
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
The Lord fulfills his promise - as a pattern
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the past days we meditated regarding how we must safe guard the garment of salvation and we saw certain ways of how to receive salvation from the Lord. Before that, we also saw that Joseph had two sons - Manasseh and Ephrahim who were born in Egypt. But Jacob, who was the father of Joseph, when he was in Canaan during the famine, we see that Joseph through his brothers, brought his father to Egypt.
All these things are to see what kind of deeds are there in our lives and when these things happen in our lives how we should escape from them and how God shows us the excuse to escape through his word. So we must analyze, know and be warned through the word of God so that we do not fall in hands of any enemy.
Then, we see that Jacob strengthens himself before he dies. The meaning of Israel strengthening himself is that in order to possess the redemption God shows Jacob before us as a pattern.
Then he tells Joseph, the promise that God gave Jacob when he appeared to him in a place called Luz and he says that your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.
Then Jacob tells Joseph that his wife Rachel died beside him on the way.
Then Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?” Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place.” We see that then Jacob said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”
Genesis 48: 10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them.
And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”
So Joseph brought them behind him, and he bowed down with his face to the earth.
My dear brothers and sisters, we must think one thing that is God has given us our redemption as a possession. Sometimes God, due to our mistakes, breaks us and forms us again. When he breaks and forms us again, we must not be discouraged but we must rejoice in the Lord that God is filling us with good things and offer praise to God and we will glorify God with gladness.
God tells these things to the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 18: 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.”
Then he went down to the potter’s house, the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.
Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
Jeremiah 18: 7, 8 The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it,
if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.
Jeremiah 18: 9 And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it,
In this manner, God is breaking and forming each one of us and the country in order to do God's will properly. He is breaking and forming and enabling us to receive the eternal possession.
This is what, God is using our forefathers like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to explain and show it as a pattern to us. We must accept such judgement in our lives and if we correct ourselves, it will be very useful for us.
That is what is said to us as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob , the Lord. Also since he is the God who led Israel in their way, it is said as the Lord God of Israel.
And since he is doing these things within us, it is being said that He is our God.
Moreover, if God will correct us and form us, the things in our mind that we think, that we cannot see or experience, will be broken by God and he will enable us to see it and will surely make us benefit from it. Our God says what he does. Sometimes we may think that we have not received that thing. If we have not received or we are not benefited by it, we must submit to God that it is our mistake and we must confess our mistakes and if we will do the purpose that God thinks in us, surely God will do unto us like what he did for Jacob.
That is, Israel (Jacob) said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”
In this manner, God is the God who will give us spiritual offsprings much more than what we think.
Since the Bible verses mention the worldly things, many people compare it to the worldly matters.
My dear people, in our lives we must protect ourselves atleast hereafter by not doing mistakes. Our God is the God of heavens and he will speak regarding heavenly things only.
Genesis 48: 13, 14 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near him.
Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
And he blessed Joseph, and said: “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; Let my name be named upon them, And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
In this manner only God judges us and corrects us everyday in order to make us proper and if we will submit ourselves to God's hands he will enable us (the church) to multiply in this manner.
Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took hold of his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.
Genesis 48: 18 And Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.”
But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”
When we meditate on this, our God is the God who enables our spiritual offsprings to be multiplied. Also on whom the Lord has a purpose to be multiplied, he enables them to multiply. He does not do what we think.
If we have to possess such blessings, our heart must be humbled to the ground and we must submit ourselves. Then however his will is to bless us, he will make us multiply in that manner and bless us.
Psalms 108: 6 That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me.
God saves us with his right hand.
Proverbs 3: 16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers. Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow.”
In this manner, if we will walk obeying God, and if we will correct our ways and make it proper, God will give us the grace to see the promise that He has given us.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless us all. .
