Making us the adopted sons – as a pattern

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, in order to redeem the people of Israel from Egypt we see that God calls Moses. When God called him and when he was talking to him, Moses told God that they will not believe my words and when God asked him what is in your hand, he says rod. Rod shows the sign of Christ. God is calling the person who already has a rod with him. Also, he is telling him to put his hand in his bosom. These two things show the sign of Christ.

That is, the rod in Moses hand is that we come to know that he had the rod in his hand to tend the flock of Jethro his father-in-law.

My dear people, we may leave this thinking that this is some normal worldly story. This is not a story, but God is showing in the Old Testament, the sign that he is doing as a pattern through Christ. This rod that was in the hand is Christ.

From this what we understand is that his hands were filled with righteousness. That hand and rod is Christ and God is showing that as a sign.

Sheep signifies people. God is showing that regarding shepherding Israel, the church. When Jesus Christ was shepherding the sheep Ezekiel 34: 28 – 31 And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid. 

I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. 

Thus, they shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord God.’

“You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God.

My dear people, God is showing as a pattern that Christ was with Moses and Christ says I am the good shepherd. We must all know that the one who redeemed the people of Israel was Our Lord Jesus Christ. Because God is sending Moses and Aaron but he is doing all the things through the rod that was in the hand. In this manner if God has to deliver us from sinful pit, from the miry clay of iniquity and also from the deeds of the Gentiles only through the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ we will be free. After we become free in this manner, everyday God’s word, which is the fire will search us and will continue to cleanse us. If we will cleanse ourselves every day in this manner, we will become holy. In that holiness, we must make sure that uncleanliness should not mix.

The pattern for the redemption of our soul is the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. We know that Christ was with them from 1 Corinthians 10: 1 – 4 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

My dear people, we must all think this thing well. In order to come in this manner, the rod in Moses’s hand only was useful. The cloud was over them. They were all under the cloud. In all their lives, they are all walking and coming through the sea. Just like how we meditated in the past days, in everyone’s life sea (unrighteousness) is there. But it is written that they were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. That is, not to take baptism in the sea but they passed and came through the middle of the sea. But not even one drop of water from that sea wet the leg and they came walking on dry land. What this signifies is that when we receive baptism it is a covenant that we take with Christ, but our God is a shadow unto us (hiding place). But not even one wicked deed that we have done till then should not be in us and we must cross to the other shore. This is what God has shown us clearly and beautifully. If we live in this manner when the waves (warfare from the devil) come it will be very less. We must run the race of faith very carefully.

For this race of faith, the most important thing is that 1Timothy 2: 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

My dear people, the meaning of this is, it is not written regarding bearing the worldly generation. This shows the salvation of our soul. That is, we must believe God. There is one person called God and we must believe the words that he says, and we must show it in deeds. Faith without works is dead. Also, what is there in that faith is Love. That is, God’s children who have faith will have love for God. Those who love God will follow his commandments.

1 Timothy 1: 5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. Holiness manifests in this love. Ephesians 1: 4 – 6 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 

to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

If these things should appear in us, we must have a sound mind. Therefore, my dear people in these days the portion of the Bible that we are reading and meditating let us read it with a sound mind and if we will obey God’s voice, God will make us holy and change us and enable us to stand before him.
