The Israelites being beaten – Jesus’s blood redeems
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days God sent Moses and Aaron to Egypt and we meditated in the past days that when the Israelites listened to the words of God that they told them they believed God and that they worshipped the name of God. Also, those who believed, in their lives we meditated regarding how their soul will live.
Exodus 5: 1, 2 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’”
And Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”
So, they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go three days’ journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”
Then Pharaoh said to them, “why do you take the people from their work? Get back to your labour.”
And Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labour!”
So, the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore, they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labour in it, and let them not regard false words.”
And those people laid more work than before. They did not give them straw. But they were forced to fulfil the work like how they did in the past days. So, the Israelites were scattered here and there to gather stubble instead of straw. But they were unable to do their daily quota of work. The officers of Egypt saw that and beat them a lot.
Also the officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, “Why have you not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and today, as before?”
Exodus 5: 15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, “Why are you dealing thus with your servants?
There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us, ‘Make brick!’ And indeed your servants are beaten.
In this manner, the officers of the Israelites spoke to, Pharaoh But he said, “You are idle! Therefore, you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’ And Pharaoh said, “You shall not reduce any bricks from your daily quota.” And the officers of the Israelites saw that they were in trouble.
Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they Israelites met Moses and Aaron on the way and said to them, “Let the Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”
My dear people, when we meditate on these verses God had already told Moses that I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go. When we look at this, when Moses and Aaron told Pharaoh to let the people go so that they may hold a feast to God, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened. Therefore, the Israelites became incredibly sad. They are being beaten by the Egyptians that is, we can understand that this is the rod of God. We can realize that God is pressurizing the Israelites using Pharaoh. This is because God is the one who is hardening Pharaoh’s heart.
This is because, God’s will is that those who are redeemed from the bondage of Pharaoh should not return again to Egypt. When we listen to the word of God, though there is a thought within us that we should repent and though it springs forth that we should leave our sin and come but because the depth of our sin is hidden in our soul it does not allow us to leave the desires of the world and the enemy which is in our soul does not allow us to worship in God’s presence and pulls us back.
My dear people, this is what is happening in all our lives. But God is the one who fulfils who he desires. The fierce anger of the Lord will not return until He has performed the intents of His heart.
God is showing us as a pattern that God’s deeds will take place in our soul in these last days (days of the Son) and he spoke and did his deeds through the prophets. Also, God’s will is to destroy Egypt, people of Egypt and Pharaoh. Only if that happens the sound of singing will be heard in the soul of the Israelites. Only then, Israel, the church will come with the voice of redemption out of Egypt.
That is why, Israel, the church is being pressurized. The tribulations that God said is going on. Jesus Christ is being beaten for all these tribulations. Jesus blood is delivering everyone of us from (Egypt).
My dear people, as we meditate on the word of God let us all submit ourselves. And the blood of Jesus will deliver and save us from all the tribulations that we have. We will receive new strength.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all
