“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 119: 18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
Safeguarding our salvation – should not turn back
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we are able to understand that our Lord God made Israel to leave from Egypt and in their journey he was a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night and he went before them and did not give them into the hands of the enemy and protected them. In the same way, when our soul is delivered from the sinful Egypt and comes; because our Lord Jesus Christ’s life is within it, in order to give us light in the journey God gives us the anointing of the Spirit and the anointing of fire and blesses us. He is the God who protects us so that no enemy may touch us.
During the journey of the sons of Israel, God tells Moses in Exodus 14: 3, 4 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’
Then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honour over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
My dear people, even though Pharaoh and the Egyptians experienced a lot of sorrow because God was hardening the heart of Pharaoh, we can read that he did not realize that it was difficult. But, through the tenth plague, a redemption came for the Israelites (through the blood of the Lamb). Then they start their journey. But for God to be glorified again, God is hardening the heart of Pharaoh and he says that I will gain honour through Pharaoh and all his army.
In the same way, Pharaoh made ready his chariot and took his people with him. Also, he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them.
So, the Egyptians pursued the Israelites, and overtook the Israelites camping near Pi Hahiroth. The Israelites who saw Pharaoh and his army drawing near were afraid and cried out to the Lord.
Exodus 14: 11 Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
The Israelites murmured in many ways. They said that - for it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
But we also are walking in this manner. When the Egyptians troubled them, they cried out. The God who heard their cry sent his servants there and shows mercy to the Israelites. But the thankless Israelites after coming out, start speaking against God.
In the same way only our God who delivered us when we were in trouble, when some problems come; do we have the experience of murmuring against him. We must also think.
Exodus 14: 13, 14 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
My dear people, in the middle of the Egyptians, for the Israelites to attain such a great salvation; God manifested his miracles. Also, in the beginning of the journey for God to manifest his glory, he hardens Pharaoh’s heart again and makes him follow the Israelites. That is, God is also testing the hearts of those who have attained such a great salvation. That is, the Israelites also saw all the things that were done in the midst of the Egyptians. Therefore, even among the Israelites there should be fear and dread about God because he had done great things so that the Israelites heart should not think about Egypt again. But the Israelites, in the beginning of their journey itself, in the thing that God did for the glory of his name, their heart thought of Egypt.
Therefore, through Moses, God is telling Do not be afraid and see the salvation of the Lord today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. That is, however, big temptation may come we must not turn back as God will take care of everything and our God who has this opinion is speaking in this manner
My dear people, do not think this is for someone. This is showing this as a pattern for us only. After we have been saved, we should not go to our old sin, world, tradition which is an iniquity, transgression and he must have the faith in us that God will take care on behalf of us.
Therefore, Hebrews 2: 1 – 4 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,
how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,
God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
Therefore, my loving people we must not lose the salvation that we have received by any deed that does not please God.
If we lose it, Deuteronomy 28: 68 “And the Lord will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
Therefore, my dear people let us protect ourselves and not do the deeds that we have left behind again. Let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
