“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 28: 8 The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
God is our wall
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, when Israel the church was delivered from Egypt and began their journey, God is hardening the heart of Pharaoh again. So, because of that Pharaoh and his army follow Israel the church. We see that the Israelites who saw them following became afraid. Then the Israelites start murmuring against the God’s deeds. Then Moses says Do not be afraid. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. We see that God is doing certain things so that his glory is manifested. But we must realize this and when such things happen in our lives we must not be weary and should not do any deeds against God and if we renew the salvation that we have received it will be a great blessing.
Hebrews 6: 4 – 6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God and put Him to an open shame.
Therefore, we must always be alert and safeguard the deliverance that we have received.
This is because, during the journey of the Israelites when Moses saw Pharaoh and his army following them, he cries to God. But God tells Moses “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.
Exodus 14: 16 But lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Exodus 14: 17, 18 And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So, I will gain honour over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honour for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
My dear people, God is showing us these things as a pattern. That is, Pharaoh, hardened heart, these are flesh. Our old sinful life, fleshly thoughts are the foreskins of the heart, because they have not be removed (without circumcision) there is no place for God’s word to enter our heart. These are Egypt (Pharaoh). But our Lord God, breaks our heart from such kind of life through severe temptations and commands the love of God in our soul and makes the word of God to enter into it (Light). That is Christ. Then he becomes the rod in our hand (the word which is Christ) and has fellowship with God.
Even if we have fellowship in this manner, every day when we go on our journey towards Canaan (own land which is heaven); our old traditional lives keep following us. That is only Pharaoh and his armies following us from behind. Wherever we may become weary, our traditional life, which is an iniquity, will come into our soul. That is why, God says to go forward in the journey; and he tells Moses lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Red sea is a pattern which God is showing. That is, wicked, sinful, lustful traditional things. When such things come into our soul, God’s word is the rod (Christ); using that, we must remove this hindrance. Then there will not be even a single drop of water (single thought) and we can run along with faith. In this manner, in our country, in our church or in our families and even in our individual lives God will be glorified.
In this manner, they are changing their lives and in the middle God is glorified.
If this change is created in our soul, then God does not allow our enemies, which are our old sinful traditional deeds of Egypt to follow us from behind and God walks behind us. This is why, when the Egyptians were chasing the Israelites in Exodus 14: 19 – 21 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.
So, it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus, it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
Exodus 14: 22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
That is, Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. This is what we can read in Isaiah 31: 3. Egyptians means our old man (old life). It will not think according to the Spirit but will think regarding things of the flesh and work according to it. Because of that, God will stretch out his hand then both he who helps will fall, and he who is helped will fall down; and they all will perish together. This is what God does in the Red sea and shows us.
My dear people, when Christ is leading us and making us walk so that we will grow in the Spirit, our old life (Pharaoh and Egypt) is coming behind us and chasing us. It is a chance for us to slip. Then God comes in the middle of us and stops the spirit and flesh from touching us. But when he comes, for the Israelites, that is those who obey he is light and for those who do not obey, that is the Egyptians he will be as cloud and darkness. When these two deeds come within us, if God’s rod (word of God) works, it will make the wind of God to blow and it will remove the sinful lusts which are in our soul and he will be a wall for us.
In this manner, in our journey of faith our God will be a wall all around us. He protects us so that those against us, our enemy, does not touch us. Let us humbly submit ourselves for that.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
