Showing the pattern of the dwelling place – as a pattern
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past day, to show us by explaining with clear patterns how God must establish the dwelling place within us, God called Moses to Mount Sinai and there he filled Moses with the glory of God and then told the people regarding how they must give offering to God and what kind of offering should be given and then we see that he is showing a pattern for how the dwelling place must be established for God to dwell.
The reason for God to make all this happen is that our spirit, soul and body and also everything that is within us (things) should be submitted to God with our whole mind willingly, so that God fills us with his glory and if our soul attains the glory of God, then God will come in it and dwell there.
That dwelling place should be made of acacia wood. It should be made as an ark and should be overlaid with pure gold. Its inside and outside should be overlaid. You shall cast four rings of gold for it; two rings shall be on one side, and two rings on the other side. And you shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, that the ark may be carried by them.
“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width.`
Inside the ark that was first made, the Testimony should be kept. Also, you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat.
Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; and
Exodus 25: 20 And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat.
You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony.
And there I will meet with you. The reason God is telling Moses in this manner the ark made of acacia wood means our soul. But that ark must be carried by poles means that we must be led by the word of God. Inside that ark our testimonies should be there. Inside that ark, mercy seat of gold should be made means the glorious Christ entering into us. In the ark the four rings of gold are the four gospels of Jesus Christ which should enter our soul. Two cherubims should sit facing each other and should stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings. The faces of the cherubim should be toward the mercy seat. Cherubims means holy angels should always be within us with the experience of praise.
In this manner, God is showing us through Moses that our Lord God enters within us and is teaching us the things that we must do.
Then he is telling to make a table of acacia wood. This table is the place to keep the showbread. Even though all these things are the setup of a church, the fact is that all these things should be a setup of our soul.
The poles used to carry the table should also be made with acacia wood. The table should be carried with the poles.
Exodus 25: 29 You shall make its dishes, its pans, its pitchers, and its bowls for pouring. You shall make them of pure gold.
Table is the place where the bread is kept, that is a pattern of Christ. Then the bowls for pouring signifies that we must come before it as those who have received grace by the word of God.
Exodus 25: 30 – 40 And you shall set the showbread on the table before Me always.
“You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece.
And six branches shall come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side.
Three bowls shall be made like almond blossoms on one branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower, and three bowls made like almond blossoms on the other branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower—and so for the six branches that come out of the lampstand.
On the lampstand itself four bowls shall be made like almond blossoms, each with its ornamental knob and flower.
And there shall be a knob under the first two branches of the same, a knob under the second two branches of the same, and a knob under the third two branches of the same, according to the six branches that extend from the lampstand.
Their knobs and their branches shall be of one piece; all of it shall be one hammered piece of pure gold.
You shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it.
And its wick-trimmers and their trays shall be of pure gold.
It shall be made of a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils.
And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.
My dear people, God has shown as a pattern explaining how our bride the church in our soul should be with glory and in the mountain he is showing that to Moses and is telling him to be careful regarding it. Our dwelling place is the Holy Spirit, the bride. Therefore, God is explaining how we must be in grace, holiness, fruits and glory. But the explanation for these we will see tomorrow. Let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
