Psalms 119: 37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things and revive me in Your way.

What is the reason for fear of death to come? How do we get deliverance from it?

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days we are able to understand that our Lord God is a God who despises idols and if we decorate ourselves with gold or silver he does not enter within us and also Christ does not speak to us. Also, to Moses who walked truthfully God speaks face to face. These he is showing as a pattern regarding the bridegroom gathering the bride, the church. 

Then, in Exodus 33: 12 – 14 Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ 

Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”

And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

We see that Moses is talking to God. What he is speaking is that so that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight, show me your way and he is telling that consider that this nation is Your people. 

Mostly we do not know his paths, but we think that we know everything and we think that we are walking in his way only and without knowing that, our eyes are becoming blind we tell that others have become blind but we remain fallen in the pit and having diseases everyday and the doctors and healers related to the world in their way in medicine, tablets, injections use these for their healing and for their life they follow them, but for others they preach God’s words. Don’t they have shame? In their lives instead of the triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit; medicine, tablets and injections they consider these as God  and obey them and say that God is with them and deceive the people, cheat them and if saved people who have been gathered to the church follow these  medicine, tablet and injections and those that preach that it is not wrong; regarding them what God says is that they are liars, false prophets and regarding such kind of people Apostle Paul in the epistle written to Titus in Titus 1: 9 – 16 holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 

whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. 

One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 

This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 

not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth. 

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. 

They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

The above-mentioned verses what it says is that therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith. Also, if faith will be only with the mouth it is dead. But if it is there in our deeds it will be alive in all things. Also, Psalms 31: 6 I have hated those who regard useless idols; But I trust in the Lord. If we do not hold on to vain things ever but hate them and if we will be hopeful only on God we will not be ashamed. Only if we will keep a complete hope on God we will have eternal life and we must understand that. 

Therefore, what God’s word says is that in Jonah 2: 8 Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own mercy.

The reason for forsaking mercy is that firstly fear of death, the second reason is desires of the world. The reason for such things to be present is because we have not received the deliverance of our soul, whatever difficulties we may face in the world when death nears it is natural for fear to come. But many people when some small disease comes, fear that they may die and overthrow the life of faith. But their inner thought is that death will not come any day and they have wrong thoughts. Death means that also of us one day have to surely meet it.

Ecclesiastes 8: 8 - 13 No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.

All this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: There is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt.

Then I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of holiness, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done. This also is vanity. 

Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 

Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. 

But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God.

But after the worldly death we have a joyful life and we must think that. If we have the hope that we receive that life, the fear of death will not touch us. If we have that kind of hope all of us will not follow vanity.

In order to save us from such kind of fear of death he died for us, and then as one who overcame hell and death, he resurrected on the third day and is seen as one who lives forever.  In this manner, if we believe the resurrected Christ and he will raise those like him who do the will of God and he gives the life of rejoicing to live with life forever along with Christ. Also, if we will walk properly without any faults in the way that God has shown us, we will get grace in the eyes of God. If we get his grace he will always think of us. If God thinks of us, his presence will always go before us. And he is saying that I will give you rest. 

My dear people, for us to receive according to what is mentioned above Psalms 103: 1 – 5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

In this manner he is renewing our youth like the eagle’s. Shall we possess such kind of blessings.
